Changelog
What changed
New features and changes to fundmysaas, newest first.
Verified MRR
A founder can connect a read-only Stripe key, and the campaign page then shows the product's monthly recurring revenue, checked by fundmysaas.
- Only restricted, read-only keys are accepted: a key that can write is refused. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.
- The figure is read again every day from active subscriptions, with the date of the last check next to the badge.
- A key Stripe no longer accepts marks the badge as failing instead of removing it.
A goal can only come down
A campaign's goal, and the minimum of a Growth campaign, may now be lowered once it is open, never raised.
- The amount that triggers the charge never rises, so no pledge becomes harder to charge than the terms you accepted.
- Every backer is told by email and may release their pledge at no cost.
- The terms of service are updated to match.
A separate choice for marketing cookies
The cookie preferences now keep marketing apart from analytics, and the bar only lists what the site actually uses.
- Accept all and Save grant only the categories on offer, so a past choice never covers a tool added later.
- You are asked once more to confirm your choice. Withdrawing marketing removes its cookies and reloads the page.
- The privacy policy and the terms are updated to match.
Report illegal content
Anyone can report a campaign page they believe holds illegal content, from the Report this campaign link or the report page.
- You receive a receipt by email, then the decision, its reason and how to have it reviewed again.
- Reports about child sexual abuse material can be sent without a name or email.
Hear when a preview opens
On a campaign shown as a preview, leave your email under Tell me when it opens: we email you once when pledges open.
- You confirm your address from the first email, and can cancel from the same link.
- After the one email, your address is deleted. Not confirmed within a week, it is deleted too.
Proof of launch, checked
When a Ship pledge founder sends a proof of launch, we check that its page answers, and an operator accepts or refuses it with a reason.
- A proof waiting for a decision holds the launch deadline, so pledges are not released while it is read.
- When a founder moves the launch deadline, backers are told by email and can release their pledge at no cost.
Campaign news
Founders post news on a live or funded campaign. It shows on the campaign page and goes by email to the backers who agreed to the seller's updates at the checkout.
- A backer stops the news, or gets it again, from My pledges.
- Each piece of news passes our moderation, and a campaign posts at most once an hour.
A minimum for Growth campaigns
A Growth campaign can set a minimum, from half its goal. When the campaign ends, the pledges are charged once they reach it, even under the goal.
- The campaign page and the checkout show the minimum before you pledge, and it is locked once the campaign is approved.
- Under the minimum, every pledge is released and nobody is charged. The founder delivers every reward either way.
Founders hear of each pledge
The owners of a campaign get an email for each new pledge and each withdrawal, with the reward, the amount and where the campaign stands.
- The email never names the backer or gives their address.
A video on a campaign
A founder can add a short video to a campaign. The campaign page plays it in place of the cover.
- The video is made smaller in your browser before it is sent: a 720p WebM, 25 MB at most.
- The cover stays as the video's first picture and on the campaign cards.
The documentation in French
The documentation is now in English and in French, at /en/docs and /fr/docs.
- The documentation panel of the dashboard opens the pages in the dashboard's language.
- The old /docs addresses lead to the English pages.
Pledges are open
Backing a reward now opens the checkout and saves your card with Stripe.
- The card form is set up for live payments: nothing is charged before the campaign's rules say so.
Documentation inside the dashboard
The documentation opens beside the screen you are on, at the section that describes it.
- On a computer, the book icon in the header docks the documentation to the right of the dashboard. Drag its left edge to widen it.
- On a phone, the book in the bottom bar opens the documentation in a sheet, like the menu.
- The page follows you from screen to screen; a link to another docs page opens in the panel, and a back arrow returns to the screen's page.
A clearer home page
The home page explains each campaign mode at a glance, and fundmysaas has its own look when it is shared.
- Each campaign mode on the home page shows, in three steps, when your card is charged.
- Links to fundmysaas shared on social networks show its own preview image, and the site has its own favicon and home screen icon.
- A founder can upload a cover for each campaign: it is shown on the campaign's card, atop its page and when the page is shared.
- The seller's logo, uploaded from Payouts, is shown next to its name on the campaign pages.
Campaign texts are screened before review
A campaign's title, pitch and rewards are checked by our moderation when the founder submits it.
- A text our moderation refuses is not submitted: the founder sees why and rewrites it.
- A text it holds goes to review with its reasons, and a person must clear it before the campaign is approved.
- Once a campaign is public, a new title, pitch or reward goes through the same moderation before it is shown.
- When a backer disputes a pledge with their bank, the founder sees it on the campaign and our team is told.
Safer pledges for backers
A security review tightened when a campaign may take and charge pledges.
- A campaign whose organization is suspended or being deleted, or whose payout account Stripe restricted, takes no pledge and charges nobody until it is cleared.
- When a campaign is suspended, the pledges it never charged are released at once.
- An organization cannot be deleted while backers hold open pledges or may still withdraw a charge.
- The seller backers see is the legal name and address Stripe verified: a campaign is submitted only once Stripe holds both.
- A campaign's page loads faster: it names its first 24 backers and reads the rest only when you ask for them.
A dashboard made for campaigns, and real payments
The dashboard now shows only what a founder needs to run a campaign, and pledges are taken with real cards.
- The billing page now lists the fees fundmysaas takes on your campaigns.
- Read your campaigns and their stats through the API (/v1/campaigns) and the MCP tools list_campaigns, get_campaign and get_campaign_stats.
- Back a campaign with a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Payments now run in Stripe live mode: founders connect their payout account again.
Full terms, privacy policy and emails for every step
fundmysaas now has its own terms of service, privacy policy, data processing agreement and legal notice, and emails backers and founders at each step of a campaign.
- New terms of service: who sells what, when your card is charged in each campaign mode, the 14-day withdrawal right with a model form, fees, moderation, how campaigns are ordered, complaints and mediation.
- New privacy policy: every use of your data with its legal basis, who receives it, how long it is kept, each cookie and its lifetime, and how to use your rights.
- The withdrawal buttons now read "Withdraw from contract here" and "Confirm withdrawal", and the checkout says where to find them.
- Backers get an email when a pledge is made, charged, released, withdrawn or refunded; founders when their campaign is reviewed, ends or its launch is confirmed.
- Write to contact@fundmysaas.io: the contact form now reaches us.
A new look for the public pages
The home page, the board and the campaign pages now look like a crowdfunding site: campaigns first, with search, filters and funding bars.
- The home page opens on a featured campaign, then shelves of campaigns ending soon, coming soon and most backed.
- Search campaigns from any public page, and filter the board by mode and order; the filter stays in the address, so a link shares it.
- Every campaign card shows its cover, a funding bar, the money pledged, the backers and the time left.
- A campaign page shows the funding next to the cover, with a back button, a link to copy and share links, and tabs for the story, rewards, seller and backers.
Campaign previews, new docs and safer pledges
Upcoming campaigns can be shown before they take pledges, the docs now explain fundmysaas, and a pledge withdrawn mid-charge is refunded.
- A campaign can appear on the board and on its own page as a preview before it opens: you can read it, but pledges open later.
- The docs explain how fundmysaas works, for backers and for founders, with the fees.
- A pledge withdrawn while its charge is under way, or paid after it was withdrawn, is refunded automatically.
- A reward added to a running campaign is checked for wording that would offer a financial return.
- Setting up payouts starts by picking the country of your business, which Stripe needs to open the account.
- A third campaign mode, Growth: a product that is live already raises for its marketing, scale, sales or hiring, and backers are charged at the end only if the goal is met.
The public site and the pledge checkout
Browse live campaigns, read a campaign's page and back a reward with your card.
- The home page is now a marketplace: live campaigns, the ones ending soon, and how a Ship pledge and a Build fund work.
- A new Discover page lists every campaign taking pledges, with filters for the mode and the order.
- Each campaign has its own page with the pitch, what happens to your money, the seller, the rewards and the backers.
- Backing a reward shows the full terms of the sale, saves your card with Stripe and charges nothing until the campaign's rules say so.
- A payment your card refused can now be paid again from My pledges.
